Party time! Excellent! Whoowowoowoooo!

I'm here on a Saturday night sitting in bed switching between Wayne's World and Can't Hardly Wait. Both AWESOME movies. I need to wake up early tomorrow and study away for my Concepts of Biology and my Spanish Linguistics class. I really wanted to go surfing tomorrow morning, but I have a feeling there won't be any surf, like today.

busy, busy, busy

So, I have been super busy this quarter with a full load of classes and extracurriculars. It has been kind of nice though being so involved.

I am currently an intern for a program at UCSB called Kids In Nature (KIN). We go on science related field trips to local spots with underrepresented and at-risk 5th graders from the Santa Barbara area. Last week we spent time at the REEF (Research Experience and Educational Facility) at the Marine Science Institute. So far I have really been enjoying my time with the kids.

In addition, I am serving as a UCSB Sustainability Ambassador. Throughout the year we are being educated on public speaking, sustainability, and the steps UCSB is taking to become a leader in sustainable development. I am going to be giving a 40 minute lecture for the other Kids In Nature interns about sustainability on Tuesday. Wish me luck!

I have also been chosen by the Kids In Nature coordinators to give a 5 minute presentation in March to UCSB's Academic Senate regarding the KIN program. This is a pretty big honor and I am stoked that they chose me.

Since I have been taking Spanish, I just want to speak and think and do everything in Spanish so I can improve. You can only improve by practice right?

Esta noche ví la obra "Todo sobre mi madre" para mi clase. Que deprimente! Pero tambien, la pelicula de Almodóvar es tan chistoso. Me gusta mucho.

movin' out

I spent the whole day moving today. I think I may have worn out every single muscle in my body, I can barely even type. I put on 'The Notebook' to fall asleep to. But I can't seem to be able to fall asleep.

My room is nice. Small, but homey. I'll post pictures soon.

I'm home in Northern California right now. Just been hanging out with my Mom, since Dad is in China at the Beijing Olympics. We are heading down to San Francisco today to do some back to school shopping :) Which, of course, I am super excited about. I wasn't able to shop at all while I was abroad, since the dollar is worth SHIT in Europe. Then we'll stay the night down there, and pick up my Dad at the airport in the morning.

I have also just been hanging out with my close friends who are still around in town. There really is not much to do in this town though, let me tell you. I am just about ready to bounce back to Santa Barbara. I'm ready to see all my socal friends and my close girls :)
