So, the time has finally come. It's my very last week in Brighton. I can't believe it has already been seven weeks since I arrived. I have had such an amazing time here...meeting amazing people and having equally fulfilling experiences.
I am sitting here being melancholic, listening to Carrie Underwood. Listening to country when I am a bit down makes me feel so much better for some reason. Sounds a bit silly...
I finished up my final paper today for American Cinema. I am a little worried though, because our syllabus says it needs to be 2500 words, while he said yesterday in class it had to be 1500 words. That is a pretty big difference. I wrote mine at 1500 words, but I think I might add a bit tonight and tomorrow after class. I decided to write my paper about the helpfulness of knowing about the historical and cultural tone of a time period when examining films made during that time. Specifically, I talk about the effect of World War Two on film noir and the Cold War on science fiction films in the 1940s and 50s. Sounds intriguing, huh?
I went on a trip to Paris this past weekend. It was AMAZING. I went by myself with a tour group, but ended up bonding with four other girls from the same program I am studying on (University of Sussex). The most amazing part was probably seeing the Eiffel Tower at night. It was lit up all blue with yellow stars in recognition of the European Union.
Alright...I'm off to work on that paper.
CHEERS xoxo
